As everyone knows, a John Gard candidacy inspires or excites absolutely no one. One anecdote from Mark Pocan's blog speaks volumes:
No surprise to political observors, but John Gard and Steve Kagen won their respective primaries. One GOP lawmaker told me if this is the match-up, Kagen will win. I hope so. It would be fun to see John Gard doing a job he's more appropriately qualified for....I can't wait to get my car washed in Peshtigo November 8. Kudos to Jamie Wall, who outperformed virtually everyone's expectations in the Democratic primary.
Man, Charlie Sykes made a similar point on his radio show with Gard as a guest, saying that conservatives who disagreed with Gard or didn't like the way he combed his hair should grow up and vote for him lest the House go Democratic. Gard made some lame crack about the hair comment.
But wouldn't you think that Gard's own son would appear a little more excited about Gard winning the primary? From the Green Bay Press Gazette.
