Now, the Brawler can't say he's not one to indulge in schadenfreude. But rarely has he enjoyed seeing a hypocrite exposed as he has in the case of Paul Ryan amid the collapse of the bailout deal.
Paul Ryan -- who is FOR repealing the estate tax andAGAINST expanding health care coverage for kids -- declared that the Repubs had to vote for the $700 billion bailout. And the Republicans said No. Paul Ryan backing big gummint solution equals Republican in Name Only. Right? (Worth noting, he spoke out against the Fannie/Freddie bailout.)
(So doing are they inadvertently paving the way for nationalization of the banking system as we've seen in Europe? Ah, the irony if that were to pass.)
No doubt Ryan and his fluffers at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel will say his vote underscores his desire to stand up against his party if need be and his flexibility during times of crisis. A more useful analysis would look at his contributions from the financial services industry. You need big money when your sights are higher than the 1st congressional district.
