When Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice David Prosser was the Outagamie County DA he elected to not go after a pedophile priest who subsequently went on to rape more boys.
Suffice it to say, if Prosser were the "liberal" candidate in this race, this failure would be broadcast daily on talk radio. But Charlie Sykes, who routinely and with justification bashes Rembert Weakland over the priest sexual abuse scandal, won't "speak truth to power," as he puts it, if it harms a conservative. Particularly if that conservative abetted the scandal. Prosser was part of the same corruption as Weakland.
So will the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel raise the issue? After all, it was their own reporter Marie Rohde who revealed how Prosser let a pedophile priest get a way back in 2008.
Given that the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel has taken the rather extraordinary step of endorsing Prosser for Supreme Court in advance of the primary in a remarkably content-free editorial, one suspects the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel will ignore the issue. And, if that comes to pass, Dan Bice really needs to hang up the "watchdog" title.
For what it's worth, Prosser believes he did nothing wrong.
Meanwhile, conservative luminaries are in awe of Prosser's candor in admitting he's a conservative. Will they press him to be candid on this matter as well?
